Patrick Keating has joined local campaigners in criticising Tory plans to build 2,800 houses in Churchill and Langford.
The plans would fundamentally alter the character of the landscape, overwhelm existing highway capacity, threaten sensitive habitats and have significant additional environmental harms.
LibDem candidate Patrick Keating said “the Tory Council have rejected sensible plans for development elsewhere in North Somerset, such as in the Vale near Long Ashton, out of political fear and are forcing through unstainable plans in Churchill and Langford against local residents’ wishes.”
While the LibDems recognise the need for more suitable homes in North Somerset, we will be demanding that Council stands up to the big developers to ensures that houses are built where they are needed and plans are developed in consultation with local residents
